“Read my lips. No new taxes.”

        Do you remember when President George H. W. Bush said, “Read my lips. No new taxes.”?Well the people voting for him in 1992 did and he was beat out for a second term by Mr. Promiscuous himself, President Clinton. Though he promised not to raise taxes, the inevitable occurred. That in association with a declining economy brought the end to his career in the White House.

          Isn’t it amazing how history repeats itself. Now 20 years later we are in the exact same position. When Obama took over he promised us Americans the world, moon, stars and even the kitchen sink. However, most importantly, he promised not to raise taxes. Now with the Supreme Court’s ruling he not only is raising taxes but doing so on the people who need the money most. The new 2,500 dollar tax will be issued to any American without Healthcare. There will be no excuses and failure to pain will put you into jail- reminiscent of the old debtor’s prison.

          Now, if you don’t have Healthcare and don’t pay the 4-figure tax-hike, the US government considers you a crook or worse yet a tax evader. You become no better than the drug sellers, robbers or other thieves in the judicial system. Heaven forbid you lose your job and healthcare. What happens next? Well, you better have 2,500 dollars saved up for yourself or you’re now considered a wanted man by the Feds.

          Is this what our country has come to? Now with the government’s incompetent hands in everything we are no better off. In fact, the more the government sticks its nose into our business, the worse things become. Because of the insecurity this law places on the private sector, no one wants to hire and if they do, it’s only for part time work. What the government has done is essentially placed a stranglehold over our entire economy with one law. It’s almost incomprehensible that the greatest country in the world would allow such a heinous act against its citizens be perpetrated.

          Plus, Obama is a liar. He lied that he was not going to raise taxes. He lied that he was going to decrease the deficit. He lied he was going to close Gitmo, and the list could go on. Where’s the media in all of this? When President Bush raised taxes they were over him like a fly to crap. They played the sound bite of him saying, “Read my lips. No new taxes.” ad nauseum. It was almost like a broken record. Plus, the media mocked Vice-President Quayle relentlessly about his misspelling of potato. Yet, both Obama and Vice-President Biden can talk like complete idiots and get away with it. It’s like the media gives them a Get Out Of Jail Free card at all times. No matter how badly they run the country, how much debt they accrue, how many bad decisions they make, how poorly the economy is doing or how dumb they look, the media turns a blind eye.

          Also, relating back to the 1992 election is that the economy was in decline at that time and it was difficult to find a job. However, when you compare 1992 to now it seems like back then the economy was entering a golden age. Just look at things now compared to back then. The economy is much worse. We are less respected around the world. Our military was better appreciated and funded by the president. We were safer and things were just better.

          Hopefully, Americans do not have amnesia and look through Obama’s mindless rhetoric and remember how disastrous the last 4 years have been. We are at a critical point in our country. Just think of what 4 more years of Obama means. I can tell you one thing. If he stays in office, I better learn Chinese because they’ll own us by 2016.

How Jesus Was Nailed to the Cross

Though my blog deals with mainly political subjects, my medical curiousity does drive me to write on other subjects. The following is an edited version of an article that has been submitted for publication:
Could the Catholic gesture known as the “Hand of Benediction” (Figure 1) provide anatomical insight into the crucifixion of Jesus?

A common symbol of both piety and blessing is known as the “Hand of Benediction”. It occurs when lateral digits of the hand (4 and 5) are flexed at the IP (interphalangeal) joints as noted in Figure 1. Though still seen today, the Christian origin of this gesture has been lost to history but may relate back to the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross.

Crucifixion was utilized by the ancient Romans as a slow, demoralizing means of death meant to both punish the guilty, dissuade others from committing the same crime or just to set an example. The cause of death from such torture has been conjectured to be due asphyxiation. However, blood loss, dehydration, infection or shock have also been suspected contributing factors.

There has been ongoing speculation as to where Jesus’s hands were nailed to the cross. Anatomically, a nail piercing the ulnar nerve at the wrist, possibly at Guyan’s canal (Figure 3), could not only explain the origin of the “Hand of Benediction” but also possibly elucidate ancient Roman crucifixion techniques. The ulnar nerve passing through the canal innervates the third and fourth lumbricals, dorsal interossei, palmar interossei, hypothenar muscles and the adductor pollicis. As result of a traumatic lesion to the nerve at this site the most noticeable outcome would be the flexion of digits 4 and 5 at the IP joints of the effected hand due to lack of innervation of their corresponding lumbrical muscles. Did those who witnessed Jesus’s crucifixion see this physiologic hand gesture while he was on the cross and interpret it as a holy sign? Is this final gesture of Jesus what the Catholic clergy of today are emulating with the “Hand of Benediction” gesture?
Plus, a nail piercing Guyan’s canal and securing a person’s hand to the wooden crossbeam of a cross may also be anatomically logical. Because the carpal bones are held firmly together by a dense and interlocking array of ligaments, this anatomical area may be able to provide enough structural integrity for a nail to secure the crucified person’s hand tightly against the wooden beam. Plus, it may also provide enough support to keep the crucified person’s arms elevated throughout the entirety of their agonizing ordeal.
Crucifixion has been shrouded in mystery for many centuries. However, by reexamining the possible origin of the “Hand of Benediction” both an anatomical explanation for this gesture and insight into the methodology of Roman crucifixions emerge.

NoBama!

I just read an article of how the Obama administration is using tax-payer dollars to promote food stamps. It seems ludicrous to any sane person that the Obama government is using our money to increase awareness about how they can give away more taxpayer dollars.
However, this is Obama’s goal. He wants an entire country of dependents. Unlike other presidents who want to lead, all he wants is to control. The more people he has on welfare, section 8, food stamps, with governmental jobs and under Obamacare, the better. The more laws and regulation he passes on business, the better. It doesn’t matter if it hurts the economy or the middle class. As long as he is able to get his grubby, nicotine-tarnished fingers in more of our lives he is happy. And the irony is, the media will back him up the whole time. His word is gospel and all those who disagree with him with be called racist, elitist or uninformed.

Where will the insanity end? The longer he is in office the worse shape our country becomes. In law school did he not learn anything or was he just too high to remember what went on in class? The American government is made up of 3 equal, yet separate, branches. Well, I’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he may have missed a few classes but obviously that is not the case. Recently, he has mandated unilaterally our new immigration policy and also berated the Supreme Court for their role in constitutionally reviewing the Affordable Care Act. Does he not know that’s exactly their job or simply does not care?

The answer is that he believes he is above the law and in fact, is the law. After the Supreme Court made a ruling in favor of Arizona, his administration took away all ability for them to enforce it. Plus, they made a hotline (again using taxpayer dollars) for any Hispanic to call if they feel they are being profiled by the police. I don’t know about you, but that’s a complete slap in the face to state’s rights and a real kick in the rear to all the police out their trying to do their jobs. It’s like all of a sudden Arizona’s governor, police and legal citizens mean nothing to the president. It makes becoming an illegal immigrant not only attractive but lawful- plus it makes it makes it seem that it’s their right now to be in America. Who are we to say otherwise?

Things have definitely got out of control under Obama. Only under his presidency does doing the right things in life like Governor Brewer make you a bad person. Only under him does making an honest living make you a greedy capitalist. Only under Obama is blaming former President Bush for everything wrong in America the right thing to do.
Well, I can tell everyone that I’ve had enough of this insanity. It’s time for America to once again take responsibly, balance the federal budget, create a real plan for our future and ensure the next generation will have it better than this one. No more Obama- NoBama!

Why the Supreme Court Decision will Help Governor Romney

          Just like the old adage of seeing something half empty instead of half full, many are viewing the Supreme Court’s decision on Obamacare as a purely negative outcome. Sure, I would have liked the court to rule constitutionally and in a responsible fashion. Sure, I would have preferred the court use the law to base their decision instead of  failed socialist ideologies. It would have also been nice to see the court use their power for the good of the nation instead of heading it towards a path of bankruptcy and despair.

          However, in the Supreme Court’s infinite wisdom they voted to uphold the Marxists principles which Obama holds so dearly. Though many despair because of this mindless decision, I see a positive side that far outweighs the negative which seem to hang so heavily over America’s future.

          Why? The answer is simple and can be summed up in one word: Complacency. It might seem over simplistic but it actually makes sense when you think about. First, you have to ask yourselves what got General Secretary Obama elected? It was the opposite of complacency: Motivation.

          What the Democrats did in the last presidential election was motivate their base to go out and vote in droves. They got them to the polls. Through rhetoric such as hope and change they made everyone out in American feel as if they alone could make a difference just by voting for Obama. They made it feel that a vote for Obama would change the country for the better; a vote for Obama would make your life better; a vote for Obama would turn America into a true utopia. Though Obama and his failed policies could do none of this, people felt as if he do all of this and more. They were thus motivated to go out and vote.

          However, times have changed. Obama is in power and his greatest assault against American freedom and Capitalism, Obamacare, was upheld. Now I ask: where’s the motivation to Obama’s supports? They already have what they want. If, however, Obamacare was repealed, there would have been a battle cry sent out by Obama and his Himmler-esk cronies. They would have berated the Republicans, chastised the courts and made it a point that if Obama were voted out of power this November, things would go back to the way things were during former President  Bush’s times. Obama would have sent the fear of God into people and made them think if Romney got into office, a Republican-driven Supreme Court would repeal civil rights, women’s suffrage and all welfare-type programs. They would have painted a picture of the future filled with despair, filled with greedy capitalistic clones of Romney economically squashing the other 99% of society.

          Instead of chanting, “Remember the Maine, down with Spain”, they would be shouting, “Remember Obamacares, throw Romney down the stairs!” (Maybe not exactly, but I just wanted it to rhyme). It would have again provoked the masses to go an cast a vote towards economic insolvency- I mean for Obama.

          Now you have to ask: who is motivated now? I can tell you. All the Republicans, members of the Tea party, the working class, people who actually pay taxes and everyone who owns any size business across the country. Now, we have the motivation. We have the battle cry. We have more a reason now to vote Obama out of office than before!

          In fact, I’d like to thank the Supreme Court for their ruling. For at this moment the tide has turned against Obama and the path to his exit from the White House has become visible. Thank you for your nearsightedness. Thank you for your demagoguery. Thank you for total disregard to the Constitution. For it is through this act of total ignorance that we Americans will take back the White House and elect a real American into office!

Only Larry the Cable Guy is Laughing

          When Arizona Governor Jan Brewer stated that she wanted to uphold the federal immigration laws set forth by the national government, it’s as if she stated that Arizona was seceding from the union. She was lambasted by the media, besmirched by the president and made out by the liberals to be a right wing fanatic. And for what? All she wanted to do was uphold the law- a law that her state needed enforced to keep itself solvent during these economically troubling times. The only good thing about the media attacking her was that they momentarily stopped their constant harassment of Governor Palin.

          If the shoe was on the other foot and Palin and Brewer were Democrats, the media would call everyone who disagreed with them sexist. They would make them out to be the underdogs who are constantly beaten down by this testosterone-driven country. They would be portrayed as heroes for standing up for what they believe and fighting for a just cause. However, we all see that this is not happening. Where is NOW in all this harassment? Aren’t they supposed to stand up for woman’s rights? I guess the only stand up for a woman if she is a left-wing nut-job who believes in Obama’s horribly failed socialist doctrines.

          Time and time again the media shows that they care only about their liberal agenda. When any person who is a woman or minority is on their side, they routinely call their dissenters racist or sexist. It’s a cheap term that they know will resonate well with many people- no matter if it has a shred of substance. All a commentator or reporter has to say is that the person is racist or unknowingly racist and a good portion of public opinion will turn immediately against them.

          How often have you heard them call the Republicans racist for attacking Obama? It’s like they’re beating a dead horse. But I guess if you disagree with Obama’s failed economic policies, you’re a racist. If you don’t like that he’s put our economy into another 5 trillion dollar debt, you’re a racist. If you disagree with his foreign policy and don’t think it’s great that the Muslim Brotherhood took control of Egypt under her watch, you’re a racist. It’s comical when you think of it.

I’m just waiting for one of my favorite comics, Larry the Cable Guy, to have a new political standup show. Instead of saying you’re a redneckas his punchline, I’m waiting for him to come out on stage and say:  If you don’t think Obama’s the greatest person ever born, guess what- you’re a racist.

No, I’m not a racist or a sexist. I’m just intelligent. I just wish the media didn’t think all American were stupid and stop continuing to feed us with mindless rhetoric and begin reporting the real news!

Bait-And-Switch

What Obama is doing with his new immigration policy reminds me of the old bait- and -switch. If you’re not familiar with the term, Wikipedia defines it as the following: Bait-and-switch is a form of fraud, most commonly used in retail stores but also applicable to other contexts.

It seems mighty ironic that Obama all of a sudden came up with this unilateral policy. First of all immigration law should comes from the legislative branch of government and not the executive. What he has effectively done is bypassed the House and Senate and made his decision without either of their support or knowledge. This move in itself says much about Obama’s character. Does he think he is better than Congress? Does he believe he knows what is best while the rest of the country is too stupid to formulate their own opinion? The answer is yes to them both. His whole philosophy is that government, or most importantly he, knows best. His belief is that without government, the individual is nothing. Only through government can the individual become a better person and rise to a higher level of living. Without government the individual is nothing.  

Obama’s philosophy sound familiar? Well it should. It’s the same mantra of thought exercised by such 20th century regimes such as the Nazis. Isn’t it amazing, yet unfortunate, how history repeats itself?

Now here’s the bait-and-switch. With unemployment up to 8.2%, almost 25% of teenagers unemployed, an economy that has lost 1.37 million jobs in the past 3 years, and ongoing scandals such as fast and furious, Obama needs something to take the media coverage away from his crumbling presidency. His goal is to bait everyone into to reading or listening to something different such as his new immigration policy. As the media and everyone in the country are baited into this story he gives us the switch. What is the switch? Well, now the news is no longer centered upon Obama’s failed tenure as president and are instead focused on his new change in American policy. It’s almost like the misdirection illusionists use to play a trick in the audience. Plus, with this new policy he can now pander to the Latino vote- a vote he desperately needs to stay in office. It’s like a 2 for one with this new policy. He can take attention off of his failed leadership and attempt to garner more votes from a specific population all with one policy change. Isn’t politics grand?

Well Obama, no matter how much you try to bait-and-switch or misdirect us, the problems you have created are still here. There’s no magic or political spin which can disguise the pitiful economic numbers you’ve put up since you’re tenure in office.

Hillary Clinton 2016?

Recently former President Clinton has made some remarks that some would say is a slap in the face to Obama. He mentioned how Obamacare is a good start while praising Governor Romney for his “sterling” business career. Plus, he openly stated that he favored extending the Bush-era tax cuts. Ironically, all of these comments are diametrically opposed to Obama’s basic message.

Is Clinton just going rogue or maybe he’s just stating what’s on his mind? Another possibility is that he could just be saying these things to get a little press for himself or simply misspoke. However, I don’t believe any of these excuses which I’ve been hearing permeating their way through the media. Everyone has come up with some reason for the remarks but no one has truly addressed his motive.

You see, Clinton is a consummate politician and excellent strategist. When he speaks he not only knows exactly what he is currently saying but is also accurately calculating the ramifications of his words. In his mind he foresees how his every word, smile or simple gesture will be construed by the media and those next to him. Everything that comes out of his mouth is preconceived and tactically spoken. You can call the former president many things but a fool is not one of them. When you look up politician in the dictionary, you see his face. Politics is his life and passion. He’s so good at this that many who were not alive or too young to remember his tenure in The White House believe he was a great president just by the way he presents himself and speaks. Plus, he lied to Congress and got away with it and convinced his wife he was sorry for cheating yet continues to shag women as if it were his job.

I’m here to give the devil his due. Clinton knew exactly what he was saying when he contradicted Obama and he said it for a reason. The reason is that he wants Obama to lose the 2012 race. That seems crazy to write but in his mind he’s not looking at 2012 but instead 2016. That is the time when he wants Hillary to run for office. That is the time when he plans for another Clinton to get back into the White House. That is the time he plans for his legacy to continue.

Though retired from office like President Bush, Clinton continues to keep the focus of his political party on himself. He wants and needs the spotlight on himself. He wants be the dominant political force and as Obama’s presidency crumbles faster than Sandusky’s defense he wants to put the final nail in the president’s political coffin. He desires his power back and if it means the democrats losing the presidency in 2012, so be it.

Don’t let Clinton take you for a fool. Listen not to what he says but instead understand why he’s saying it.

Obama is out of touch with America

Have Obama and the rest of his cabinet lost total touch with reality? With Obama’s recent comments that the “Private sector is doing fine” it confirms all my beliefs that he’s living on his own world.

Seriously, we must dissect his statement. Does he really think the private sector is fine? Contrary to all indicators such as the high unemployment rate, increased people on welfare, section 8 and other government programs and soaring underemployment rate, he could think private industry is doing fine. As mindboggling and as totally absurd as it sounds, he may actually believe it.

 

Is there that much of a disconnect with him and the real world? Does he have any grasp of simple economics? Does he even understand how the economy works? Does he know how much people around the country are hurting for work? Does he understand how difficult it is, despite a good education, to find a quality job?

The simple and most logical answer is that there is a disconnect and he’s as clueless as Kim Kardashian at a Mensa convention. It would explain his inexplicably naive comment and make sense of his whole tenure as president. We all realize by now that he was unqualified for the job and his entire resume consisted of a single speech (As eloquently pointed out by Hillary Clinton) at Senator Kerry’s Democratic convention. The truth of the matter is that being President of the USA is no joke. It takes skill, training and one heck of a resume. If you’ve really accomplished nothing significant in life like Obama, then taking on the job of president was well out of his league.

 I believe that this is the most probable cause for his statements. However, I still have a nagging feeling that he simply doesn’t care. It’s been about him since day one when he got into office. When the brave Navy seals killed Bin Laden, he took the credit. He took credit for Bush’s Iraqi withdrawal schedule. He took credit for the auto industry. When things went bad, however, he never took the blame. It was Bush, the European economy, the Republican in Congress, or the Supreme Court and the list goes on.

When President Truman was in office he said that the buck stops here. Obviously the only thing that stops in the White House now is his media cronies, Hollywood elitists and his personal lobbyist. Well, Mr. Obama, I have some advice for you. As President of the great USA you should feel proud to serve the people and not feel as if we should feel proud to have you lead us. Remember that the next time you speak.

Obama and Sex in the City

I heard the most ridiculous ad this week. It was Sarah Jessica Parker touting Obama’s accomplishments in another socialist, I mean Hollywood, sponsored fundraising campaign for their anointed one. She enthusiastically states, “OK, the guy who ended the war in Iraq; the guy who says you should be able to marry anyone you want; the guy who created 4 million new jobs. That guy — President Obama — and his wife Michelle are coming to my house for dinner on June 14th.”

The only agreement I have with Sarah is that I too refer to Obama as That Guy. That Guy is the one who said he’d halve the deficit yet needlessly increased the national deficit another 6 trillion dollars.  That Guy was the one who borrowed the money from China- the same country that is using the profits to increase the size of their military. That Guy is the same one who is cutting military funding as both the military strength of China and Russia increase and during a time of war. That Guy in the White House doesn’t know what he’s doing.

And Sarah, I too would love to have That Guy over for dinner. I’d like to tell That Guy what he has done to the economy, our foreign policy, the military and to jobs in America. I’d like to tell That Guy how he is condemning our next few generations to pay for the follies of today. I’d also tell That Guy the way it is and not agree with him like the bobble-headed media and yes-men he has surrounded himself with.

Another thing Sarah, Obama has not created 4 million jobs. The American people have- despite all that he has done to kill US business and bolster the outsourcing of jobs. I am a small business owner and know just how difficult it’s been to expand and grow. There have been no incentives, tax breaks or other bonuses to expand the size of the company. In fact it is much more difficult now to grow my business. Thanks to Obama’s policies he has placed a stranglehold on the private sector and made life more difficult for anyone who own their own business.

Plus, I laugh when you give him credit for those 4 million jobs. We are still in a recession and the only reason the unemployment is down to 8.2% is that many have retired, taken early retirement, went for disability or just took a lesser position. If you’d count these people into the whole unemployment equation we’d be up to 20%!  I’d like to give you an example. When President Bush was our leader I’d posted a job in the paper for my company. A got 30-40 applicants over a few weeks. Recently, I placed the same ad and over 300 people applied in under a week! Many were overqualified and most were willing to work no matter what the salary. Does this like he is doing anything positive for the economy? Maybe if you and your other Hollywood buddies got off your high horse and actually saw how the country ran, you may understand what’s really going on here in this county.

Sarah, you live in a super-elite world that has become out of touch with the other 99.9% of America. In the end I must give you the benefit of the doubt and must concede there may be another cause for your overt ignorance of the real circumstances surrounding Obama’s presidency. Interestingly, studies have shown that the rate of syphilis is up in cities. Maybe with all that Sex in the City you may have come down with neurosyphilis? You know that’s the same disease that eventually caused Al Capone to go demented and die. Maybe, this is the early stages of the disease. If so, there is still hope Sarah. The nearest hospital should be stocked with antibiotics and ready to help. Good luck!
