Congress, Staff, to keep Federal Health Premium Payments

I think this cartoon adequately sums up what Obama is attempting to do with his health care plan. And we’re the suckers who are going to be forced to swallow the pill because in the end, there will be only one insurance company for all Americans- Obamacare. However, those elite like Obama and the rest of Congress will be exempt from this intrusion. I read the article below and was just besides myself with anger. Obama speaks of class warfare- yet, he is creating right now by allowing Congress to have a higher standard of health care. The article below sums it up nicely.

WASHINGTON, Aug 7 (Reuters) – Congress has won some partial relief for lawmakers and their staffs from the “Obamacare” health reforms that it passed and subjected itself to three years ago.
In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.

The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama’s blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff.

When Congress passed the health reform law known as Obamacare in 2010, an amendment required that lawmakers and their staff members purchase health insurance through the online exchanges that the law created. They would lose generous coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

The amendment’s author, Republican Senator Charles Grassley, argued that if Obamacare plans were good enough for the American public, they were good enough for Congress. Democrats, eager to pass the reforms, went along with it.

But it soon became apparent the provision contained no language that allowed federal contributions toward their health plans that cover about 75 percent of the premium costs.
This caused fears that staff would suddenly face sharply higher healthcare costs and leave federal service, causing a “brain drain” on Capitol Hill.

But Wednesday’s proposed rule from the OPM, the federal government’s human resources agency, means that Congress will escape the most onerous impact of law as it was written.

The OPM said the federal contributions will be allowed to continue for exchange-purchased plans for lawmakers and their staffs, ensuring that those working on Capitol Hill will effectively get the same health contributions as millions of other federal workers who keep their current plan.

Government treats money as if it came from Monopoloy

There are many reasons why the private sector succeeds while the public sector languishes. Incompetence, bureaucratic policies, oppressive rules, quotas and lack of enthusiasm are just a few examples. The article from Bloomberg.com I read below typifies this apathy and incompetence which runs ramped in government offices. If this happened in my office, my accountant would be out of work- because I’d be out of business. The government treats our hard-earned taxpayer money as if it came from a monopoly game or as if it all grew from some magic tree. There is a definite impersonalization with the money they collect from us. To them it’s just a number.

In contrast, in the private sector money means paying the bills, meeting the mortgage, paying the payroll and bringing money home to your family. Every dollar is accounted for and every day the money is tallied up precisely. The bottom line is that every dollar counts and in the private sector, businesses try to make that dollar go as far as it can. In contrast, if some government agency needs more money, they just raise taxes.

The bottom line is, the bigger our government becomes, more waste  accrues, more inefficiency is created and more disrespect for money accumulates. Why do you think socialism and communism are failure? This is just one example.

February, cash-strapped Detroit received a $1 million check from the local school system that wasn’t deposited. The routine payment wound up in a city hall desk drawer, where it was found a month later.

This is the way Detroit did business as it slid toward bankruptcy, which it entered July 18. The move exposed $18 billion of long-term obligations in a city plagued by unreliable buses, broken street lights and long waits for police and ambulances. Underlying poor service is a government that lacks modern technology and can’t perform such basic functions as bill collecting, according to Kevyn Orr, Detroit’s emergency manager.

“Nobody sends million-dollar checks anymore — they wire the money,” said Orr spokesman Bill Nowling. Except in Detroit.

“We have financial systems that are three, four, five decades in the past,” Nowling said. “If we can fix those issues, then we’ll be able to provide services better, faster, more efficiently and cheaper.”

There is no correcting “Political Corectness”

In the except below taken from Flopping Aces, Dr. John writes about Obama’s new race-based discipline program. In the program black students will not be subject to punishment for their aberrant behavior. Dreamed up by some progressive idiot, the plan is again some ludicrous plot to better our public education system- which is failing. Instead, all it does is make these students not responsible for their actions. And if responsibility is not taught and enforced in the schools, the students will not be adequately prepared for the real world. In the real world responsibility is the first prerequisite for success and obtaining a successful career. In the end, what is our public schools producing- more people destined for the government doll. With more and more people on this doll and less working, who will pay for the nanny-based system that Obama is creating?  The economy is bound to collapse. But in the end-is that not their plan?

Welcome to Obama’s New World of Race Based Discipline and Punishment Quotas.

Barack Obama’s “African American Education Initiative” creates a new Federal bureaucracy. One of its goals will be to stop disciplinary action against black public school students who misbehave. [snip]

It is precisely this kind of Obama idiocy that got Trayvon Martin killed. Trayvon Martin was caught with stolen goods in his possession. Had Trayvon Martin been held accountable for stolen goods, had the school properly reported the crime, Trayvon Martin would have had to face the justice system. It is likely he doesn’t get sent to live with his father. But he would be alive. Now Obama promotes more of the policies that got Trayvon Martin killed. Those policies are not just wrong, they are morally wrong. Conduct rules are colorblind and they should be.

Where is Sharpton?

This story truly typifies the media hypocrisy. 3 AA teens beat to a pulp this white kid on a bus while the rest of the students and bus driver watch passively:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/07/florida-school-bus-beatdown-goes-unnoticed-by-self-styled-civil-rights/

Where is Al Sharpton? Where is the media outrage? Where are the politicians? Where is Oprah? The answer is nowhere. Why- because this type of hate crime brings in no ratings, votes or public interest. If the Al Sharpton’s really cared about racial equality, they would take just as lofty a stance on this hate crime as they did with Trayvon Martin. Also, if they took a stand on this case, they would actually have some credibility. Instead, they are silent. The media also lends a deaf ear to this crime.

The truth of the matter is the Al Sharptons and media want there to be a racial divide in this country. They want racism to exist. Without either, their existence is meaningless. When given a true example of a hate crime and racism as above they do nothing. If they did, it would mean that all they believe in and who they are would mean nothing. Their existentialist life would come crashing to a bitter end, creating a sense of utter worthlessness that would eventually lead to their psychological demise.

So the bottom line is that racism is only convenient when it serves the personal causes of the Sharptons and media folks of the country. Though it is 2013, they want to bring us back to the sixties and keep race relations at a all time low. Fueled by egocentrics like our pitiful president, true race issues will never be solved, while new problems will be created for personal gains.

Obama Trashes Constitution

As the country goes down the path of economic destruction, I thought tis cartoon sums up at least some of the cause. Through executive orders, throwing away the first Amendment, failing to enforce the law and picking what parts of the law should be applied, Obama has made a mockery of both the Constitution and the US law as a whole- setting an example which will lead to anarchy and economic destitution.

Pandemic of pension woes is plaguing the Nation

Promises, promises, promises. That’s all the democrats can do. However, now is the time to pay the piper. And guess what? The bank is empty. The money is gone, swindled away by large government mismanagement, payoffs and fluff-filled budgets- leaving people wondering where the money went.
Across the nation, cities and states are watching Detroit’s largest-ever municipal bankruptcy filing with great trepidation. Years of underfunded retirement promises to public sector workers, which helped lay Detroit low, could plunge them into a similar and terrifying financial hole.

A CNBC.com analysis of more than 120 of the nation’s largest state and local pension plans finds they face a wide range of burdens as their aging workforces near retirement.

Across the country cities are going bankrupt and there is no one to blame but the politicians themselves. Did they think this ponzi scheme could go on forever? Did they think they could raise taxes forever? Democracy is a funny thing. I’ve learned that it is a tenuous institution. Why? because eventually people will get smart enough to vote in those that will give them”stuff”, eventually bankrupting the system. And that’s where we are. Bankrupt and heading down the road to further impoverishment, dependency and Obamacare. This is what we voted for and this is what we got.

Rangel calls Tea Party ‘White Crackers’

In resent interview, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) said Tea Partiers are the “same group” who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement: “It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break”.  Rangel then said the Tea Party could be defeated using the same tactics employed against Jim Crow.

Where is the media outcry? Why are they not calling him a racist demanding an apology? The answer is simple. The media is a bunch of hypocrites. As long as you believe in their progressive teaching, the first Amendment applies to you. If you disagree with them, then you are branded a racist or a right-wing nut. Our country can not function like this. If no one can speak their mind freely without being publicly humiliated, how will any effective dialog ever occur that could possible fix America’s problems. The answer is- it can’t. Welcome to Obamamerca!

Joblessness in America

The following sums it up: 162,000 net new jobs were created in July while the working age population increased by 204,000. This is the legacy of Obamonics. The net difference id the people who are now on the federal and state doll. Success- more dependent and one step closer to socialism!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Four out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives, a sign of deteriorating economic security and an elusive American dream.

Survey data exclusive to The Associated Press points to an increasingly globalized U.S. economy, the widening gap between rich and poor and loss of good-paying manufacturing jobs as reasons for the trend.

The findings come as President Barack Obama tries to renew his administration’s emphasis on the economy, saying in recent speeches that his highest priority is to “rebuild ladders of opportunity” and reverse income inequality.

Hardship is particularly on the rise among whites, based on several measures. Pessimism among that racial group about their families’ economic futures has climbed to the highest point since at least 1987. In the most recent AP-GfK poll, 63 percent of whites called the economy “poor.”

While racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to live in poverty, race disparities in the poverty rate have narrowed substantially since the 1970s, census data show. Economic insecurity among whites also is more pervasive than is shown in government data, engulfing more than 76 percent of white adults by the time they turn 60, according to a new economic gauge being published next year by the Oxford University Press.

The gauge defines “economic insecurity” as experiencing unemployment at some point in their working lives, or a year or more of reliance on government aid such as food stamps or income below 150 percent of the poverty line. Measured across all races, the risk of economic insecurity rises to 79 percent.

Sometimes termed “the invisible poor” by demographers, lower-income whites are generally dispersed in suburbs as well as small rural towns, where more than 60 percent of the poor are white. Concentrated in Appalachia in the East, they are also numerous in the industrial Midwest and spread across America’s heartland, from Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma up through the Great Plains.

More than 19 million whites fall below the poverty line of $23,021 for a family of four, accounting for more than 41 percent of the nation’s destitute, nearly double the number of poor blacks.

In 2011 that snapshot showed 12.6 percent of adults in their prime working-age years of 25-60 lived in poverty. But measured in terms of a person’s lifetime risk, a much higher number — 4 in 10 adults — falls into poverty for at least a year of their lives.

The risks of poverty also have been increasing in recent decades, particularly among people ages 35-55, coinciding with widening income inequality. For instance, people ages 35-45 had a 17 percent risk of encountering poverty during the 1969-1989 time period; that risk increased to 23 percent during the 1989-2009 period. For those ages 45-55, the risk of poverty jumped from 11.8 percent to 17.7 percent.

By race, nonwhites still have a higher risk of being economically insecure, at 90 percent. But compared with the official poverty rate, some of the biggest jumps under the newer measure are among whites, with more than 76 percent enduring periods of joblessness, life on welfare or near-poverty.

By 2030, based on the current trend of widening income inequality, close to 85 percent of all working-age adults in the U.S. will experience bouts of economic insecurity.

Rank’s analysis is supplemented with figures provided by Tom Hirschl, a professor at Cornell University; John Iceland, a sociology professor at Penn State University; the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey Institute; the Census Bureau; and the Population Reference Bureau.

Among the findings:

—For the first time since 1975, the number of white single-mother households who were living in poverty with children surpassed or equaled black ones in the past decade, spurred by job losses and faster rates of out-of-wedlock births among whites. White single-mother families in poverty stood at nearly 1.5 million in 2011, comparable to the number for blacks. Hispanic single-mother families in poverty trailed at 1.2 million.

—The share of children living in high-poverty neighborhoods — those with poverty rates of 30 percent or more — has increased to 1 in 10, putting them at higher risk of teen pregnancy or dropping out of school. Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 17 percent of the child population in such neighborhoods, up from 13 percent in 2000, even though the overall proportion of white children in the U.S. has been declining.

The share of black children in high-poverty neighborhoods dropped sharply, from 43 percent to 37 percent, while the share of Latino children ticked higher, from 38 to 39 percent.

Political Correctness

George Carlin was a genius when he would spoof political correctness. In his usual demeanor, he would jest how political correctness waters down the meaning of the language and neuters our speech to the point where it becomes meaningless.

Though I laughed at his commentary, I have come to realize that ppolitical correctness does not allow us to address a point directly because we fear the repercussions. The problem is, if we don’t directly address our problems, we’ll never fix them. That is why our economy and country are in decline. And the problem is those that do stand up and speak and their mind are cast off as a sell-out, right-wing nuts or racist. Just look at what happened to Bill O’Reilly recently. The media has made it almost impossible to address a point without fears of an Al Sharpton-led backlash. So where does that leave us? Right where Obama wants us- nowhere.

A Picture Says a Thousand Words

A picture does say a thousand words. Just look at the Federal, State a Private mailboxes in the above picture. If this is not a true and visual testament to vast difference between government-run verses private-run businesses, I do not know what is. FedEx and UPS are both successful business, make large sums of money each year and employ thousands of people. On the other hand, the US postal sevice is about 20 years out of date, bankrupt and requires our taxpayer money in order to survive. Can you imagine what things would look like if the government took over 1/6 of the economy by implementing Obamacare?
